TwinSensor (E.U. Regulation)
Rapid test detecting the contamination of milk by Beta-Lactam and Tetracycline antibiotics.
Beta-lactam and Tetracycline antibiotics are the most widely used antibiotics for the treatment of bacterial infections in dairy cattle, but also for growth promotion and for collective prophylactic treatment.
But using antibiotics for non-therapeutic purposes has led to the development of antibiotic resistant (AR) bacteria, which have infiltrated our food system and pose a major risk to human health.
The legal standards require that milk contain no detectable antibiotics when analyzed using approved test methods.
Moreover, the presence of antibiotics in milk inhibits dairy microorganisms and cause economic losses to the cheese and fermented milk industries.
Technical DetailsMaximum residue limits (MRLs) have been specified for food products and milk to control the levels of antibiotics reaching the consumer.
TwinSensor is available in 2 versions :
- specific to the European Union maximum residue limits (KIT020)
- specific to the Russian Federation (RF) milk limits (KIT034)
