RBS dipslides, are an alternative to the BTM2 dipslide, for bacterial, yeast and mould detection. Comprised of Tryptone Soy Agar with TTC (Red spot dye) and Rose Bengal Chloramphenicol Agar, bacterial and fungal organisms can be clearly interpreted from foods and other materials.
After incubation, bacterial colonies will appear on side one as red spots. Whereas side two will show a variation in fungal growth characteristics. Rose Bengal Chloramphenicol Agar is particularly helpful for the detection of food spoilage caused by fungal microorganisms.
